…apparently in French it’s “et faire des effets de rotule.” So “produce effects with your knees” is, um, a lot more literal. (Also it’s just “my dear” and not “my dear friend.”)

Wait, is “effects with your knees” the more literal translation, or is there an EVEN MORE blatant translation? (it was amazebad enough when he was just telling someone like ten years younger then him to put his ass in leather pants and shake it. My word. Bahorel: not merely without shame, but actively attempting to punch shame in the kidneys.)

And I love that Bahorel’s options for healthy relationship conflict resolution are  either “get over it already kid, you’re boring me” or “Then dress up nice and FALL TO YOUR KNEES FOR HER LIKE A REAL MAN, here’s my tailor”.

To the occasional fics I stumble on where Bahorel is somehow repressed and/or vanilla about these things: you are missing SOME CONTEXT.
